This summer has been a whirlwind of memorable experiences, from the sun drenched alleys of Morocco to the wild untouched frontiers of Alaska, I had the opportunity to explore new corners of our beautiful planet all while meeting with people from different walks of life. Here is a glimpse into my personal journey over the last few months.
The Golden Sands of Morocco
Exploring through small towns of Morocco all the way through the vast expanse of the Sahara, getting lost in the ancient medinas was a moment I held close. It offered a lesson in presence, navigating winding paths filled with the scent of spices and the sound of local artisans at work, allowing me to hone in on the hustle and bustle around me. The desert however, offered a different kind of magic, a profound silence under a canopy of stars. Both experiences, offering a balance of what Morocco has to offer.
From Guadalajara to Ameca
A road trip through Jalisco, Mexico, led me to unexpected culinary delights. In the town of Ameca, I had the pleasure of meeting a renowned Napa chef who has brought the flavors of Italy to the heart of Mexico. It was a beautiful testament to how food bridges cultures and creates unique community hubs.
The Wild Beauty of Alaska
Alaska provided a stark, stunning contrast. Immersing myself in the local traditions, I had the unique experience of tasting eyesocket dried salmon, a delicacy that represents the rugged survival and deep connection to the land found in the northern frontier. It was a journey of raw nature and profound cultural appreciation.
